111. Documentary Review: I Just Killed My Dad
This month's documentary review episode is on Netflix's, I Just Killed My Dad, a journey into child abduction, neglect, and DV/ IPV, as well as how the criminal justice system works for lower income people and juveniles. Lots to talk about in this one!
112. Seasons, Crimes & Seasonal Affective Disorder
As we gear up to head to the PNW, we though it fitting to discuss the subsection of Major Depressive Disorder: Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.). This is a research-heavy episode as we look at all side of this diagnosis, as well as how to intervene & treat the "winter blues" on steroids.
110. Hoodoo in the Garden of Good and Evil
In this storytelling episode, the doctors recount the true crime story from the hit book & film, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, while exploring themes of sexuality and sexual expression in the South in the 1980's, before getting into the practices of Hoodoo. This episode is a nice transition from their recent trip to Savannah into spooky season!

Travel back to 1927 Los Angeles with us and the guys from the L.A. Meekly podcast. Greg Gonzalez and Daniel Zafran are Los Angeles- born comedians who have been doing their monthly LA history podcast for going on nine years. We cover the kidnapping and brutal murder of 12 year-old Marion Parker by William Edward Hickman from psych and historical perspectives.

We take aim at yet another profession that we hold in high regard- judges in a court of law. We cover the Rule of Law in the US and the different types of courts where judges could hold a position on a bench. We look at the research of the personality makeup of judges and then cover some judges behaving badly and other ways judges can lose their jobs.

In this episode we take you back to 1930's Pasadena (yes, again) to examine the unsolved murder of the "Don Juan Dentist," Dr. Leonard Siever. There are a ton of leads and theories to this murder with seemingly no obvious motive.

This week, the doctors celebrate their 100th full episode with a doozy of a topic, but an important one. They will give you a historical overview of school shooting in the US, touching on significant events that have formed the evolution of what we experience today. They also cover the wonderful work of The Violence Project and break down what we know about mass shooters and school shooters and, most importantly, where prevention and intervention should be focused.

A dry river bed is the backdrop for our first monthly vintage episode. An already mysterious place to Native Americans, this area is also said to be a portal to hell after a brilliant rocket scientist performed experiments and occult rituals on the lands in the 1930's. Join the docs as they travel back to 1950's & 60's Pasadena to get to the bottom of a series of child murders that supposedly occurred in the Arroyo Seco at the hands of Mack Ray Edwards.

We looked at Battered Woman Syndrome that is as much a psych concept, as it is a legal term. We cover the history of its inception, including the work of Dr. Lenore Walker, and talk about a text-book case, as well as a controversial, high profile case of BWS.
