Dr. Shiloh & Dr. Scott have a unique perspective on True Crime as residents of the center of the entertainment world and the birthplace of the Crime Noir genre.

30. Intimate Partner Homicide
The doctors give you the background on the statistics and components of Intimate Partner Homicide, including stalking, coercive control, and the significance of strangulation as an act of intimate partner violence. This then leads into the story of Connie Navarro, mother of American guitarist and street artist, Dave Navarro.
29. Stockholm Syndrome Revisited
After coming upon some further research, the doctors bring you this follow-up to episode #27 on Stockholm Syndrome. Please listen to the prior episode first for a historical perspective and what preliminary research says about the phenomenon. This episode highlights the evolution of the term and how it is most often being applied to forensic cases today that involve prolonged entrapment.

18. The Injustices Against Amanda Knox
We critically examine the injustices served upon Amanda Knox and the Netflix documentary, Amanda Knox. We will catch you up on everything that occurred over the 8 years of this saga and examine the behavior of someone exposed to traumatic events. However, this episode is more about the other key players in the story that shaped the wrongful convictions. We also take a glimpse at what Ms. Knox is doing now in her post-traumatic growth.

In rare fashion, the doctors are on the heels of this week’s biggest news story, the Jussie Smollett case out of Chicago. At the release of this recording, actor and singer Jussie Smollett has been indicted and arrested for orchestrating his own hate-fueled attack and falsely reporting this to police.

This episode bring us all back to our favorite true crime subject, serial killers. And not just your average serial killer, but the special breed of trucker serial killers. Dr. Scott & Dr. Shiloh go into how crime analysts started realizing that highway serial killings was a nationwide epidemic before exploring specific killers featured in the docuseries, The Killing Season, the book Evil That Men Do and the podcast Happy Face, including little known facts about prolific killer Robert Ben Rhoades.

The docs finally find a fascinating way to talk about one of their favorite miniseries, Manhunt: Unabomber. They dish about the show itself and then relate Episode 6’s topics of Incels to Ted Kaczynski with a special guest. Retired FBI profiler and forensic linguist, James R. Fitzgerald gives his insight into Kaczynski’s sexual development and struggles which was revealed the Unabomber’s own personal writings.
13. Incels
Dr. Scott and Dr. Shiloh discuss one of their most interesting topics to date: Incels or the “involuntary celebates.” They talk about the origins and evolution of the incel community and touch on various flavors of diagnoses that appear to be prevalent with these individuals.
